Without notice, apparently.
I really don’t want to linger on Musk or any of his ventures (after years admiring him, I’ve soured on his apparent and actual treatment of others), but today I saw the news today, oh boy: “Twitter’s relationship with developers has fallen apart“
It’s difficult to imagine losing your livelihood–without notice–based on the unannounced whims of an erratic owner-operator. I don’t mind a planned, announced change in strategy with time to adjust (that’s entirely up to the leadership), but sudden changes like this can easily damage or even kill a company dependent on something like APIs.
As I tweeted earlier today: Musks consistent pattern of disregard for anyone dependent on the outcomes of his decisions can no longer trust any of his companies. Replace Musk, and those companies can start the long, difficult work of earning back trust.
